For some children, the typical classroom setting is not the ideal place for them to learn. They often feel restricted by the use of a table and chair and are much more content sitting or lying on the floor or moving around.

Although this is not usually possible in classroom, it is during our 1:1 tutoring sessions in literacy, phonics and drama. We focus on the child’s interests and personalities to tailor make their sessions to provide them with the most effective and enjoyable learning experiences.

We have created three syllabi for alternative learning which compliment the National Curriculum.

  • Primary Drama – a cross curricula syllabus that links for literacy, history, music and art.
  • Fairy Tale Phonics – a creative syllabus which uses drama, craft, storytelling and socio-dramatic and fantasy play to emerge the children in literacy and phonics. Fairy Tale Phonics is aimed at three to six year olds.
  • Literacy Warriors – Literacy Warriors has been created to help children take ownership of their own creativity and understanding through games, guided questioning and reasoning. It focuses on the key elements required to succeed in Key Stage Two such as understanding terminology, grammar, punctuation, spelling and structure.
